Tweet tweet

Blogging has become a little harder for me to devote my time to, so I’m going to try twitter out to see if it’s more convenient and an equally deserving venue to spread my wisdom. ;) http://twitter.com/_AmyBrennan

MISERABLE

I don’t know what I did to my body to make it hate me so much, but this has seriously not been my month!  First was the back and my inability to walk and now it’s a crappy cold!  I can’t get anything done!  I hate missing so much work and always feel guilty when I have to stay home, but after I was quarantined to the end of the table in my last meeting yesterday afternoon, I figured it would be best to keep my sorry ass at home for the day.  I can’t wait to exercise, sit/stand comfortably, and the ability to breathe through my nose.  Special thanks to Joel for getting my food and supplies, and Bella for literally not leaving my side!  It was so nasty and rainy out so it wasn’t the worst day to stay home and slip in and out of consciousness all day.  I made a point to keep the Christmas tree lights on all day too.  I’m feeling a little better, but not great…I guess another weekend wasted resting is in my future…WAH!

Kanye West

How can someone so annoying make such good music?  I can’t stand to listen to this guy talk (I am sure I share this feeling with many)…yet, just bought his album last night.  It’s good.  It’s great.  And Rick Ross is on at least 2 tracks.  AHHHH THE IRONY!  YOU WIN AGAIN KANYE!

HAPPINESS!

Today, I went to a bridal shower for a friend of Joel and mine.  Possibly one of the kindest girls on the planet, Erica is calm, cool and collected.  I did not know many people but as soon as I walked in, I was pointed towards the wine and “hard liquor”…awesome!  Some time after Mike had already asked her parents if he could marry their daughter, they found out that they were pregnant and expecting in late April!  When Mike told me, I did not see a drop of fear on his face; just shear joy.  I am so happy for these two.  So if you ever feel stressed in your life…I’d like to remind you that someone else out there is probably juggling more than you…i.e. these two.  Between January through May of 2011, Mike and Erica will 1. Get married, 2. Have a baby!!!, 3. Graduate from law school, and 4. Take the BAR exam.

CONGRATS!!!!!

Music is Seasonal

Can we all agree that some songs are better heard in the summer or winter?  For me, most Beach Boys songs are best heard in the summer (duh)…EXCEPT for God Only Knows (which happens to be my all time favorite Beach Boys songs).  Your Love is My Drug reminds me of L.A. and sunshine/summer.  Songs like Crazy In Love and mostly all Kanye West songs (with the exception of all songs on the 808s and Heartbreak album) are best heard in the summer.  However, songs like Wish You Were Here (Incubus), Empire State of Mind, What Goes Around Comes Around (J.T.), and almost all songs by Coldplay are best heard in the winter season.  I’ve always thought this but decided to blog about it after I heard Rihanna and Drake’s new song (What’s My Name) that has a ton of “winter sounds” and made me wonder if music producers think the same way and release artists’ songs at certain times of the year because of their seasonal “sounds”.  Obviously, you don’t want to release a song like California Girls in mid-January or release most songs by One Republic in the summer…because to me, both belong in opposite seasons.  Does this make sense to anyone else?  Or am I on too many back-pain meds? :(

Alright back to my paper…
